Chapter 572: Blood Demon Critically Injured and Hunted

"Yes!" Ye Xiu readily agreed. A man should forge his own path, fighting battles far and wide. Ye Liuyun would never amount to much if he constantly stayed under his wing.

"Thank you, Big Brother." Ye Liuyun hadn’t expected Ye Xiu to agree and was so happy his grin nearly reached his ears.

Tang Bo was still staring at Ye Xiu in shock. "Big Brother, are you even human? Totems are a hereditary Power, yet you can strip such a Power from one person and transfer it to another."

Tang Bo had greatly admired Ye Liangchen. After discovering that Ye Liangchen was actually Ye Xiu, his admiration turned into worship. He felt that the achievements Ye Xiu had accomplished by the age of twenty-six were something he could never surpass in his entire life. Now, Ye Xiu could even strip a Totem from one person and transfer it to another. He felt Ye Xiu wasn’t human!

"There is nothing in this world that can’t be done, only people who can’t find a way," Ye Xiu said.

Tang Bo gave him a thumbs-up. "Big Brother, your level of swagger is even higher than Dong Fangbai’s."

Ye Xiu was speechless.

Just then, the roar of a car’s engine grew closer. Ye Xiu, Tang Bo, and Ye Liuyun quickly ran outside. They saw a taxi speeding toward them, prompting Qin Qing, An Dongye, Chloe, Ghost Doctor, and Dong Fangbai to hastily jump aside. With a single palm strike, Ye Xiu brought the taxi to a screeching halt, forcing its engine to stall.

Tang Bo, Ye Liuyun, Dong Fangbai, and An Dongye looked at Ye Xiu in shock. Was that even possible?

CLICK. The taxi door slowly swung open, and a blood-soaked figure tumbled out. He was dressed in clothes and boots made from animal hide.

"Ye... Ye Xiu... save... save me..." the blood-covered man weakly uttered before falling silent.

"Blood Demon?"

Recognizing Blood Demon’s voice, Ye Xiu quickly ran over to check his pulse, utterly shocked. This person is Murong’s grandfather, Blood Demon Mu Beifeng? As the only person to have ever survived a direct strike from Huang Quan and escape, Blood Demon had been lured to Jin Ye City by Murong at my request. I had then captured him alive in a classroom at Saint He Medical School. Only after helping Blood Demon and the Mu Family resolve their Yin Poison Body affliction had Blood Demon agreed to help me. But Blood Demon was supposed to be monitoring the Mysterious Land. How did he return so severely wounded?

"Blood Demon?" The name startled An Dongye, Tang Bo, Ye Liuyun, and Dong Fangbai.

Tang Bo asked, "You mean *the* Blood Demon? The one who survived a direct strike from Huang Quan and was the only person to escape his clutches?"

He was met with silence. Without Ye Xiu’s permission, they couldn’t possibly tell An Dongye, Tang Bo, Ye Liuyun, and Dong Fangbai that Ye Xiu was Huang Quan, could they?

Just then, Blood Demon woke up. "I almost didn’t make it," he said, his weak voice filled with relief. "I was so close to death."

"I told you to monitor that place. Why did you come back? Who did this to you?" Ye Xiu asked in astonishment while treating Blood Demon’s wounds. He knew that if Blood Demon was determined to flee, even he wasn’t confident he could catch up. Moreover, Blood Demon had now advanced to a Second Realm War God, making him even faster than before. Yet someone had managed to wound him this badly.

"Don’t... don’t ask yet," Blood Demon said weakly, his voice breaking. "Someone’s... someone’s chasing me. Deal with them first..."

"Who’s chasing you? Where?" A cold light flashed in Ye Xiu’s eyes as he asked.

Before Blood Demon could answer, two men dressed just like him but with extraordinarily rough skin appeared in Ye Xiu’s line of sight. The blades of their sword and saber were caked with blood.

Qin Qing, An Dongye, Chloe, Tang Bo, Ghost Doctor, and Dong Fangbai frowned.

"Was it you who did this to him?" Ye Xiu asked, continuing to treat Blood Demon’s wounds. His face was like a sheet of eternal ice, and the Killing Intent in his eyes swirled like a roaring tornado.

The two men didn’t answer. They didn’t even glance at Ye Xiu as they charged directly toward Blood Demon.

"You’re courting death!"

Ghost Doctor and Chloe exploded into action, each landing a single punch that hammered the two men to the ground.

Sprawled on the ground, the two men babbled in a language none of them understood. Their expressions were so vivid, however, that everyone could grasp their meaning: pure shock.

"What language is that?" Ye Xiu asked Blood Demon.

"Heh, you think I can understand it?" Blood Demon rolled his eyes at him.

Ye Xiu was taken aback for a moment, then gave Ghost Doctor a meaningful look. Ghost Doctor understood instantly. He grabbed the two men and headed for the basement. He needed to record what they were saying and send it to You Ming. If even You Ming couldn’t decipher their strange language, then they would truly be out of options.

"Who are they? Why are they chasing you?" Ye Xiu asked Blood Demon.

"Seriously, Ye Xiu? I nearly died for you, and you don’t even offer me a bath, clean clothes, or something to eat? You’re just going to leave me lying on the ground to answer your questions?" Blood Demon demanded indignantly, a sense of grievance in his voice.

"Cough, cough..." Realizing how impolite he had been, Ye Xiu coughed to ease the awkwardness. Despite his urgency, he gave the orders, "Chloe, go make something for Blood Demon to eat. Tang Bo, take Blood Demon to bathe and change his clothes."

"Alright!" Chloe replied.

"Okay," Tang Bo said.

Twenty minutes later, Blood Demon was devouring a bowl of tomato and egg noodles with tears welling in his eyes. "Ye Xiu, you have no idea what I’ve been through," he said. "Dammit, I’ve been eating raw meat every day... These noodles are so damn good..."

Qin Qing and the others exchanged glances.

"I’m sorry you had to go through that," Ye Xiu said apologetically.

After finishing the bowl, Blood Demon tossed it to Chloe and grumbled, "Another bowl! A bigger one this time! Are you looking down on me with this tiny thing?

"That place you sent me to monitor... it’s truly bizarre. At first glance, it looks like a vast expanse of white. But when you get closer, you realize it’s actually a forest. The plants are just completely covered in snow, so it’s hard to tell from a distance."

"I sneaked into that forest..."

At this, Ye Xiu exclaimed, "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

"Let me finish."

Blood Demon took the large bowl of noodles from Chloe, slurped a mouthful, and continued speaking indistinctly, "Everything in that forest is bizarre. The trees are incredibly thick, and the flowers and plants look like they’ve mutated. Some of the plants even seemed alive and attacked me on their own.

"The most terrifying part was the animals. Every one of them was like a monster out of a legend. Have you ever seen wolves the size of oxen? Reindeer that stood two meters tall? Musk oxen three meters high? Bears five or six meters tall? And then there were the Ice Snakes, as thick as water buckets and over ten meters long.

"I went in there with the strength of a War God, and dammit, I still got chased by one of those bears for three days! A single swipe of its paw nearly killed me..."
